Job Description

Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is a key technical contributor responsible for working with both Syngenta Internal and External customers and Syngenta partners including Suppliers, Operations and Quality Team (Regional and Global level) and support Omaha formulation site for continuous improvement and providing the best Quality products to our customers in timely manner. QA Specialist will use various Operations Excellence (OpEx) tool to bring a positive impact on the Quality of new and existing products to Omaha CP-FPP site. This position will require a strong desire to develop into a leadership position as majority of time QA responsibilities includes working with Syngenta (on-site and off-site) Leadership Team with cross-functional projects.

Accountabilities:
  • Serves as an active Quality liaison and main point of contact between Syngenta suppliers, Omaha Operations and Regional Quality Team for any Quality issues and non-conformance (NC) raised by Omaha Team that affect Omaha Productions with product Quality.
  • Works with Syngenta Regional/Global Quality Team, Omaha CP-FPP Leadership Team and various Syngenta approved Suppliers to submit NC, timely follow up and close Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and also ensure that root causes (RC) have been properly identified and eliminated after through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Responsible for addressing and resolving supplier issues and driving formal corrective action supporting positive changes to Omaha CP-FPP site.
  • Leads the tracking and follow up for Omaha Product/Process NC and RCA action items, also recommends resolution to NC as appropriate.
  • Works with new or existing Syngenta suppliers and with Omaha site and Regional Procurement Team to meet Syngenta Quality standards.
  • Works with various Omaha site Team to perform Quality Audits using Quality Compliance Index (QCI).
  • Represents Omaha Site and the company to all external parties (customer and supplier) in a professional and beneficial manner with positive attitude.
  • Responsible for establishing and reviewing documents related to Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with Syngenta Regional and Global Quality code of practice (CoP).
  • Works with Omaha Quality and Operation Team to report and improve production Right First Time (RFT) as one of Omaha site Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
  • Supports "Site Safety Goal Zero" policy along with along with maintaining Critical to Quality (CTQ) characteristics throughout the Omaha formulation site.
  • Must have a good ability to prepare (Knowledge with QA tools) and present Quality documents to Senior Leadership Teams and cross-functional Team at various Syngenta sites (including tollers).
  • Assist and assume responsibility for resources allocated by site Quality Manager with any assigned administrative tasks.
This is a onsite position located in Omaha, Nebraska. 

Qualifications
 
  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry preferred and with 3-5+ years relevant QA experience or Associates Degree with 8-10+ years relevant RI and QA experience.
  • Proven Excellence in Quality certifications (e.g. ASQ, 6 Sigma) and working knowledge in Lean manufacturing process using OpEx tools (A3, RCA, QRA, PRA, 5Whys etc.).
  • Must possess strong understanding of standard QA/RI/QC practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Good working knowledge of Quality Compliance in production/Chemical environments.
