Job Description

Summary/Primary Purpose: Work with youth and adults in the Corps and community to plan and implement music classes that will include music theory, performance skills, musicianship, and character. This position requires scheduled attendance which may include nights and weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the position.
  • Provide music classes to school age children in 2nd Grade through High School and adults.
  • Provide supervision for the children in the program.
  • Enforce all rules and fair discipline among program participants.
  • Report any accidents/incidents to the director and complete the proper forms.
  • Responsible for the set up and take down of games and equipment used for activities.
  • Positively interact with volunteers and visitors.
  • Driving is an essential role in this position.
  • All other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: To supervise all youth in The Shield Fine Arts Academy programs.

Education and/or Experience: A minimum of 2 years music experience working with children/adults. Minimum Bachelor's Degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music. An advanced degree or training is desired however combination of High School diploma or its equivalent and teaching experience will be considered.
