This position is responsible for monitoring all E2 Optics and customer safety programs throughout the field operations onsite to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. Coaches employees on all safety rules and regulations.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Safety is our number one priority. Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite policies.
  • Promotes company Core Values to foster and safeguard family-centric culture.
  • Works with personnel in all areas and at all levels to achieve consistent safe practices throughout the corporation.
  • Makes field site visits to support safe work practices and develop safeguards.
  • Provides technical safety and health support and information to field and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Identifies company safety training needs and coordinates safety training programs.
  • Participates in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.
  • Supports field operations personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters, and specific training programs.
  • Participates in corporate Safety Committee meetings.
  • Assists as necessary in implementation of a hazard communication program and preparation of associated reports.
  • Reviews process-operating procedures/records and provides input for safety and health considerations.
  • Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
  • Advises field operations and corporate staff of regulatory changes with which the company must comply.
  • Audits practices and records of jobsites to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker's compensation claims.
  • Reviews field operations safety committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports and follows up as necessary.
  • Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
  • Travel: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
Education:
  • High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree is preferred
  • OSHA 30
Experience:
  • Must have 2-3 years' experience within the safety and environmental fields
  • Experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, safety training, hazard reviews and job safety analysis
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health, and safety laws

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confided spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
