Job Description

The ASRS supervisor is responsible for all ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) electrical and mechanical installation activities and to ensure that the quality and tolerances of our automated material handling system is maintained on Vanderlande Industries projects in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Position - Key responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a safe working environment during the project installation phases.
  • Organize and coordinate electrical and mechanical installation activities on small to large scale automation projects.
  • Personnel planning and scheduling with the project schedule.
  • Organize/coordinate/report onsite logistics (inventory control) of electrical and mechanical material for AS/RS systems.
  • Instruct the installation team (Vanderlande and subcontractors) on technical and installation requirements daily.
  • Problem solving onsite with support from electrical/mechanical AS/RS Product engineers.
  • Perform and document quality checks during and after the installation to ensure standards are met.
  • Work with site team to ensure high quality hand over to commissioning.
  • Support commissioning during testing phase.
  • Provide detailed feedback issues or improvements to the installation process.
  • Willing to travel for trainings to Europe if necessary.
  • Willing to travel nationally and internationally up to 80% of the time. Staying on location for 2 to 6 weeks on the project.
  • Able to obtain required badging to access site for assigned projects

Key result areas / profile

  • High school diploma.
  • Must have a background in Electrical and/or Mechanical material handling industry field installations.
  • Safety minded.
  • International and cultural awareness.
  • Willing to travel and hold current passport.
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft office).
  • Knowledge / experience with automated systems.
  • Logistically minded and highly organized.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and eager to learn.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Excellent people skills / working in team environment.
  • Comfortable with fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of Asi, Profinet and CanBus systems is a plus.
  • Experience with SEW drives and servo motors is a plus.

This is a full-time, exempt position, eligible to receive an hourly rate and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The hourly range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final hourly rate offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial hourly rate: $36.88
