Job Summary

The Desktop Support Intern is responsible for assisting coworkers with first level incident analysis, resolution, and complete documentation in the incident management system. The IT Tech Support intern assists the Service Desk with providing tech support on-site to end users, documenting, and closing tickets, and taking calls from Help Desk queue. Additionally, they assist the Remote Site Support technicians and Desktop Engineers with troubleshooting more complex issues, imaging and deploying new PC equipment, and assisting with projects and upgrades.

This position will work 5 days a week onsite at our Middleton, WI office.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides first level support by taking Service Desk calls as well as responding to user's self-submitted tickets
  • Provides on-site deskside support to end users to resolve computer issues in a timely matter, working alongside Remote Site engineers.
  • Assists with PC upgrades and new computer deployments.
  • Provides assistance with departmental project work and upgrades.
  • Monitors and updates incidents logged in the incident management system.

Education and Experience Profile
  • Currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program with an emphasis in Information Services
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience.

Required Skills
  • Proficient in Windows 10/11 operating systems
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office O365 Professional Suite
  • Proficient in computer hardware and networked devices
  • Proficient in mobile devices (iOS and Android)
  • Knowledge in Mac operating system a plus
  • Strong Interpersonal and team skills
  • Good listener and learner
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Displays a positive, optimistic attitude towards challenges and problems
  • Enthusiastic and upbeat, with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.

Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
