Primary Responsibilities

The MS SQL ETL Developer will be responsible for creating and maintaining various ETL projects involving data movement and transformation. You'll be working with our Team Lead to meet with internal clients to discover requirements and high-level needs. You'll collaborate with our Team Lead to find the right fit and process for the data, being aware of where the project fits within the existing architecture.
Your technical expertise and creativity will be needed to develop the data flows and final integration into the data estate.
You'll also work with the requestor to provide the appropriate level of governance and security to the final product.


In the role of MS SQL ETL Developer, we'll count on you to:
Design robust ETL solutions that involve complex data sources such as secure file transfer, RESTful APIs, and a myriad database sources.
Develop and provide a high degree of expertise in HDR's database and business environment
Develop and leverage knowledge of existing HDR database systems
Provide input around data governance
Design data repositories and data warehouses with best practices in mind to provide HDR with information and insights
Engage internal teams when a larger vision of data design is required

Bachelor or Technical degree in Computer Science or closely related field, or combination of education and relevant experience
Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience as Microsoft SQL Server Developer.
Experience in designing and architecting databases is required
Possess and be able to apply knowledge of database principles and practices
Ability to take direction, but also take ownership of tasks and run with them. Asking for help when needed.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Excellent client service, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to take the technical jargon out of conversations when working with non-technical clients.
Ability to perform tasks in a dynamic environment many times working under tight delivery schedules
