Path to Power Intern - Saint Paul, MN

Pay: $17 per hour

Schedule: Part-time, 10 hours per week, 10 weeks beginning June 10th, 2024

Shift times: Varies on weekly basis. In-person position with flexibility to do some work remotely. Occasional weekend and evening hours. In-person office shifts predominantly on Tue/Wed for trainings and workshops. In-person attendance required for organizing and community events happening throughout the summer.

Location: Hybrid

Job type: Non-Exempt

Travel: Ability to travel to Vandalia health center to attend any necessary trainings or skills workshop. Ability to travel throughout the metro-area to attend community events.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This internship is for college students in any year and rising high school juniors and seniors. College credit available per your institution's guidelines.
  • Applicants should have an interest in reproductive health and rights advocacy and a commitment to grassroots organizing.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Attend theory and skills training related but not limited to grassroots organizing, direct voter contact, base building, reproductive justice, and more.
  • Staff office shifts, which may include data entry, volunteer management, and event support.
  • Participate and eventually lead events such as phonebanks, text banks, canvassing, and tabling.
  • Recruit, engage and retain volunteers virtually and through community outreach events
  • Learn and use the Voter Action Network (VAN) to track and report data
  • Meet base building, outreach and volunteer engagement goals
  • Attend a minimum of 1 action event per week.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
  • Open-minded and have the willingness to learn and apply new knowledge and skills
